Upcoming Banquet Info
Hello Black Bears.
Well the end of the season is right around the corner. The days are getting longer and one of these days the weather will start to get warmer. There are only a few more games and a couple of practices left. What a GREAT season of hockey it has been.
As we have done in the past, we will end the season with a banquet to share a meal, award each one of our players accomplishments, recognize our coaches, corporate sponsors, and elect a new Board for next season. Everyone is encouraged to attend so each player is recognized.
This year we will be having a bbq at the Readfield Elementary School on Saturday, March 29th from 12:00 to 3:00. We will be serving burgers and hot dogs. We need some help with the rest of the food.
We are asking that the team members bring the following, enough for 10-15 people.
Atoms - Nothing
Mites - Chips/pretzels/popcorn
Squirts - Salads ( Tossed/pasta/potato salad)
Please RSVP by Tuesday March 25th to firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know that you are coming. Send your name, level of play and how many are coming.
Please bring your child's game jersey(s) to the banquet. Please wash them and remove the name plate (leave the sponsor name plate on them). It is very important that you return your jersey in clean condition so they will last for future players / teams.
Rental Gear: For those who rented equipment with a deposit, you have a couple of options. If your child would like to continue in another upcoming program activity, then you are encouraged to keep the now fitted/sized equipment in your possession….those bags should last about 2-3 years of play for the younger players! When you eventually return the rentals, we will provide your deposit back at that time. If hockey is not for you, then please return all your rental items on March 8 or at the end of season banquet to receive your deposit back.
Used equipment: If you have any used clean equipment you would like to donate to the Association for future players to use, please bring such items to the banquet where we'll have deposit bins set up to receive your offerings.
One important point of business will be the election of Officers. We are currently looking for interested parents to fill both elected and appointed positions for the 2014-2015 season. Terms run May 1, 2014 until April 30, 2015. Below is a listing of each position and it's status. All positions are open to anyone interested in running – if more than one candidate for an elected position occurs, a ballot election process will occur at the Annual Banquet.
If you are interested in any position or want to nominate someone, please contact Henry Clauson (details on contact page).
Check out the Board of directors page for a list of positions.
